This clock is a beautiful example of the elegance that comes directly from simplicity. This tall case clock is a scaled down version of a Shaker clock constructed of pine by Erastus Rude of the New Lebanon Community around 1811. Unlike the original, this case is constructed of cherry. The hood hinges and keyhole were hand-made from brass stock. The glass sidelights allow a clear view of the movement and bell. Like many other Shaker clocks, this clock has a quiet, elegant, and refined, but not overwhelming presence in any room. It has been scaled down from the original to accommodate the lower room heights typical of houses today. Overall size 74″ high, 18″ wide, and 10″ deep. German 8 day weight driven pendulum movement has a single bell that counts the hours and rings once on the half-hours. $1800 with free delivery within 50 miles, shipping or delivery over 50 miles is at cost.
