The siding and door trim is completed for the front of the house.
The lawn is beginning to grow in.
Beginning of the garage siding and some landscaping.
Track for the sliding doors is installed and trimmed out (but not yet painted.)
Further landscaping work…
More work on the garden area (now finished and seeded with a cover crop for the winter.)
Garage siding completed and west gable end sided with space left for the porch roof (and temporarily sided as shown in another photo below.) Most of the siding anywhere near the porch has been only partly nailed so adjustments can be easily made when the porch is added.
The lawn is now well-established and requires regular mowing.
Pre-staining and applying the shingles to the future porch area required a whole week of work. I think it is about 5x slower than doing the same with clapboards. The ledger strip at the bottom for the porch deck is attached to the house by heady duty aluminum brackets.
Judy has been building a set of steps up the front gardening area.
The house siding is now half done, although the far gable end and the rest of the back is far less complicated and should not take nearly as much time as the front has taken.
